Alkaline Burnishing Compounds for a deep shine on ceramic and plastic parts

Most alkaline burnishing compounds are designed with heavy chelating agents to improve the surface of the part as well as provide a nice deep shine.  Chelating agents chemically react with metals to form water-soluble complex molecules.  Unlike acid burnishing compounds that are usually run in steel media, alkaline burnishing compounds can be run with ceramic or plastic media.  This can cut media costs.  Also, ceramic media can be used for a deburring or descaling process, so an alkaline burnishing compound can be used in the same media as previous process(es).
